Location Photography Final!

Today was the day I really had to get my final 8 photographs done for Location Photography so last night I went to our shed where my parents had our outdoor Christmas light around the roof and patio bit and I pressed the button and shook the camera about too see what it looked like. The colours were amazingly bright and it was probably the best photograph I have took in a while and even John said that it was really good! These are my final 8 photographs with the theme of Interior and Exterior.

Out Of Focus

I was recently filling up my sketchbook for Location Photography and when i was looking for information about documentary photographer Colin Delfosse (he's Belgian by the way) and when I was reading about him I didn't know he was part of a project called Out Of Focus where 6 photographers come together and travel the world where there is culture, poverty issues and political and environmental conflicts. The photographers that are on this project are Colin Delfosse, Pauline Beugnies, AurĂ©lie Grimberghs, Thomas Freteur, Alice Smeets and  Thomas Vanden Driessche. The link for the website for information and the gallery are below!

Graphic Novel World...

After my last post I found my other Graphic Novel drawings on my phone which I was so pleased! These ones are finished but later on I'll try and post the Dead Space one before Christmas.

Im Batman! Shhhhh.....

Okay so for Narrative Image Making I decided to go down the Graphic Novel route and use the style for my final piece. After 6 days of intensive drawing and shading I finished the face! I'm totally pleased with how it turned out and so I started another two. One of them is the lead girl in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Lisbeth Salander and the other one is the lead character in the video game Dead Space, Isaac Clarke. I did these in pen and water, a quick and easy technique I learned from school. As a young student I felt that my painting and drawing techniques have grown and this pictures shows it!

Light Painting

After weeks of trying to decide what I wanted to do for my Location Photography unit I decided to look up a practitioner called Michael Bosanko, he created these amazing light photograph's which were like graffiti but they looked amazing! I wanted to try this technique out so a couple of days ago I got my camera and set the lens manually to the right focus, set the timer to 10 seconds and bought a laser pointer on Amazon and started to light paint. Most of them look better than others but overall I am pleased with them. I really enjoyed doing this and I would do them again if I wanted to :)
I really love this one because you can't see me! I'm blurred out in the background but the lines in the background are blurred but the closer ones stand out.

After using the violet light I tried the red laser and I love it! It looks like I painted my room :D

With this one I decided to go absolutely crazy with the light and it made this really interesting cross stich pattern!

This is a really bad attempt of me drawing an evil face...

These two are kind of the same but different light.

Laser Pointer Finally Works!

Well finally my parents got my laser pointer to work and when they fixed it I had a shot of it. When I was messing around with it I wanted to try something with my camera on my phone and the laser, which I thought was a great idea so I decided to post the outcome of the photograph on here. All I did was point the laser to the front camera and see what happens (by this time it took me like 5 attempts to stop shaking) and when the photograph was shot it actually looked like a WiFi signal which my friend thought it was awesome and it looked amazing! After a while I wanted to try different shapes by using the different colours I had and some were good but the others were quite bad in my opinion.
This one decided to make my fingerprints larger which I really liked.

The outcome of this one was very poor in my opinion as I was shaking while holding the laser and my phone.

This photo was trying to do the light painting and i wanted to see what it would achieve I can see I didn't move my phone along but also I didn't want anyone to see my hand! (Please excuse my fluffy slippers!)

I really thought this photograph was very bright and it shows the rays of light from the flash on the camera which I also loved!

This is the picture I sent to someone on SnapChat and they loved it so I luckily saved it before I could send it to my friend for 10 seconds because she described it has a fingerprint scanner and my other friend said that it looked like a WiFi signal so I really don't know what it is.

It's a race to the finish.....

Recently for Fine art I had an idea for the portrait part of my painting and decided to draw a man and a woman to decide which one I want to use. I decided to to draw Mark Webber (F1 Driver) as the man and it's still in the works but im really pleased with it so far :)
Please excuse the shadow of me taking the photo.....

TED Talks: How Schools Kill Creativity

A few weeks back before Andrew MacKenzie came into our class to have a talk about his work, our tutor Niall showed us this inspirational video about how art and drama are the lowest subjects and that not very many kids chose the subjects and I just though the whole talk was just amazing. Here's the link if you haven't already seen it!

Oil Paints for Fine Art :)

These are my 2 lovely paintings. One of a flower and the other is a remake of Renoirs 'Head of a Girl' but it turned out more like a old woman than a young woman.

Worlds greatest superhero...

I was trying out different printing techniques for Narrative Image Making and I used Styrofoam and kind of stabbed the Iron Man picture and printed it with water based ink.

Eyes on everyone

Was walking home in Gala and came across a set of eyes which was obviously done in colouring pencils but it was the fact that someone stuck it in that place so the eyes are looking at everyone which I thought was quite funny:)

Narrative Imaging Task

Class task with Christie using print outs of an old boat, cut out trees and dead souls.
