Saturday night was the best night ever with the friends I love! I had a Halloween party which involved drink, food and crazy dancing but also myself and my friends used sparklers and I told them to wave them about so when I took the photograph the camera would track all the lines with the light! The correct aperture I used was Lo F5/6 which would capture the light hen it's really dark. The results were pretty good considering I never used a tripod or anything.

I can't keep track of this!
Since I left college I was told to keep updating this but I haven't.... Until now! I've been pretty busy looking for a job to get money for things I want and also helping around the house but recently I had a go at decoupage:D I'm gonna try and make the basic letters of my name out of cardboard or something but I finished the letter 'E' and I must say I'm very pleased with it! Hopefully my next project I'm going to do is tie dye the Captain America shield onto a plain white t-shirt and then I want to melt crayon wax to make small candles in glasses.
Anyway here is a picture of the letter I decpupaged!

Sun! Sun! Sun!
Well yesterday it was probably the sunniest day so far and it's that time of the year where it's Instagram time as the sun is out and all the flowers are pretty! I was walking to college and I came across an awesome picture! I edited it on InstaSize and here are the results XD

Melting Crayon
As part of my memory book I also wanted to put in some crafty things and one the craft ideas I got from Pinterest was crayon melting and all I did was get some crayons, used a hairdryer to melt them and then aimed downwards for the drips. Here is the end result:D

Memory Book.
For a few weeks I have thinking so hard on units that I haven't actually had time to do my own stuff so this week I have decided to create a memory book and everyday I would fill a couple of pages up of memories with family and friends and of course college! Even though this is a blog I won't be posting a picture on this post but the next one I definitely will! I am literally so excited about starting this book and it will help me concentrate on art and also the memories that are stored in my head.

Typical Fan Girl!
For my paper making unit I am creating a top hat that is getting covered in hand made paper with certain song lyrics and will be printed on from Lino and today I tried to print out one certain song lyric from a song called 'I Feel Alive' by We The Kings and the song kind of takes me back a few memories when my grandmother passed away a few years ago and the song helped me a lot to get me back on track with life because it's such a happy feel-good song!
The start of cutting the lino took me 2 days because I had to trace the lyrics onto tracing paper and then trace it again on the other side of the tracing paper and then rub it on the lino so the backwards writing has been transferred onto the lino and then it was the start of the cutting process. When I finished cutting the lino, I started to print a few off for some trials runs and then discovered that my handmade paper is too small for the type to fit on so I just used plain A3 paper and used 2 sheets. The first sheet, I used a red printing ink for the first 2 prints and then the second lot of prints I added yellow printing ink to make the colour lighter and then printed onto the paper. The second piece of paper was for darker colours but the prints didn't turn out as well as the first lot of prints.

More Photography :D
After my last blog I took more pictures and one of them is a picture of my hand but I went onto the VSCO Camera app and I just changed the filter to a soft grey and white and then I turned up the contrast to about +2 and it made the white quite bright and the the brightness I turned down quite a bit and it made me think of Bill Brandt. The other 2 images are just trials of taking a picture of the eye so I just used my dogs as models for the picture and I really liked the soft colours of the images and so I just wanted to share my photography trials that I thought worked out pretty well!

Photography!:D
Okay I know I haven't put up anything on my blog for a few weeks but I've been pretty ill the first week of the Easter Holidays and then the second week I went away for a few days with Charlene to Haggerston in Berwick and while we were away we both done a bit of photography with the help of InstaSize and VSCO Cam which you can buy from the App Store! These were the only two decent ones I took and to be perfectly honest the first one was just too bright with the black just way too black because I wanted it grey but it never happened but the second picture I really liked because the white of my shoes just stood out from the rest of the colours.

Assassin Creed 3 (Connor)
It's been a good couple of weeks since doing my FMP (Final Major Project) and I haven't done any printing techniques to put in my sketchbook to show that I have actually done something productive instead of filling up my sketchbook with drawings and annotation so here I am. I have finally done an Assassins Creed 3 etching and I must say, I am so pleased with it that I have printed on my handmade paper from my Papermaking Unit. The first one was the best because it was dark and you can definitely see more of the etching. The last 2 were a downfall as it was too light for my liking but overall the etching was a success!

Paper, Paper, Paper!
Today was the day I decided to update my blog and let's just say I'm excited for this one! A few days ago I was finishing of my top hat template and I decided to make some paper so I made the pulp and when I used the mesh template for an A4 sheet of paper and thought 'Great.... It's way too thick' so I re-pulped it and it was still too thick but i still used it and the outcome was pretty good! It was probably the first time I have made clean white paper!
So after that batch of white paper was clean I moved onto making more paper but dying it with some sort of dye so I asked a few people and they said to just spray/splatter on some Batik Dye and so I did with the colours pink, blue and yellow but you had to do this when the paper was still wet and all I can say was... Oh My God! The ink spread all over the paper but the extra thing I liked about the ink was that there was only a few bits of white paper showing through. After that bundle of fun I certainly will be make more paper like that!

Indentation In Paper
Earlier today I was sorting out my paper in colour section (I know it's stupid) and when I came across this paper I made ages ago with pieces of rose petals and when I removed the petals, it left an indentation in the paper which made the paper interesting so I decided I wanted to use that in my final piece because it would count as a kind of printmaking technique.

N0H8 Campaign
Okay I know it's been a while since I've updated my blog but so many things have been happening ( the good things of course) and I've hadn't had any time to update this but here it goes!
A couple of years ago I came across a gender equality campaign called the N0H8 Campaign and for weeks and weeks I wanted to put this into my sketchbook and show everyone how much the campaign meant to one of my closet friends so I looked it up more closely and I didn't know Criminal Minds star Kirsten Vangsness was apart of the campaign and it was just inspiring what she wrote about her experience with the N0H8 campaign.

'Eyes' by Louise Bourgeois
On Monday our 3 classes traveled to Edinburgh to visit the Louise Bourgeois exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Art and when I went through all the rooms I came across a sculpture called 'Eyes". The piece was made out of Pink Marble and was quite freaky when I came across it and I thought 'This is my type of work and I want it!!!' Unfortunately I couldn't take photo's on that floor of the exhibition but from my eyes the piece was amazing! The other pieces from the exhibition were not my type of work, some of it was a bit too personal for my liking and I think most people in my class would agree because I found out the next day that she used blood in her paintings (correct me if I'm wrong) but when I found out, I was freaking out a bit. Another piece that I really liked was Cell XIV. The sculpture was something like out of a horror movie like Saw which I really like about it.
